Ronin Theatre Productions

Ronin is an Oxford-based theatre company which stages modern and contemporary plays.​

Ronin Theatre was co-founded by Alistair Nunn and Ashley Hunt.

Ashley Hunt

Co-founder

Ashley trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art on the 3 year course, graduating in July 2007. Whilst at LAMDA he played the parts of Frank Lubey in Arthur Miller's All My Sons, Peter Verhovensky in Dostoevsky's Demons, Leggo in Kay Adshead's Others and Edward Sheridan in Frank McGuinness's Someone Who'll Watch Over Me.

Since graduating Ashley has performed Romeo and Juliet with the Stuttgart Ballet Company in the London Coliseum and has worked with Matthew Bulgo at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff, performing a new piece of writing; Carnival by Collette Kane. Other credits include "Torchwood: Children of the Earth" as a recovery worker and Bottom in the Young Shakespeare Company's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Ashley also plays the part of Howell Lowell in the ongoing comedy podcast Oblivity.

Alistair Nunn

Co-founder

Alistair has been acting, directing and writing in and around Oxford for over 12 years and has a host of credits with a huge number of companies, including OTG, BMH, Tomahawk, Oxford Operatic and ElevenOne. Among the plays he has directed are King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra, his own adaptation of Henry VI with a gender reversed cast (all OTG), Oliver! (Oxford Operatic), Much Ado About Nothing (Tomahawk) and Merchant of Venice and Macbeth (BMH). He also wrote, and starred as Sherlock Holmes, for BMH in The Hound of the Baskervilles. Among his many acting credits in Oxford are Henry Carr (Travesties), George Tesman (Hedda Gabler), Victor (Private Lives), Edward Ferrars (Sense and Sensibility), Jack Absolute (The Rivals) and a host of Shakespeare parts including Henry V, Mercutio, The Duke (Measure for Measure), Macduff and Bottom.
